Wednesday Speed Session August 28th

So we are there, last of the speed sessions for the summer in the Regional Park in Ballincollig. This will be the 22nd session since we started back on the first Wednesday in April. We are finishing up with a round of 1600s, this is a great session for anyone doing the Lost Sheep or any other long triathlon in the coming weeks. It’s a really good time for LS participants to put in a really hard session before the race with plenty of time to recover. As mentioned below there will be a tempo session next week but this should not be done hard for those doing LS, just a stride out before the following Saturday. Nothing you do next week will significantly improve your fitness for Kenmare but doing too much could leave you drained.

We are going to continue run sessions through September, these will be tempo runs and will be held on the UCC Farm (UCC Sports Fields) on the Curraheen Road and will be coached by Noel O’Regan, but that is next week.

Session

3 x 1600m with easy 600m recovery jog

Cool down

As this is the last Ballincollig session the CTC social committee are providing snacks and nibbles on the green by the small carpark by the allotments after we finish running.

So as the poster says; meeting on the back rugby pitch in the Ballincollig Regional Park, the session starts at 7:00pm sharp so try to get there a little early. The rugby pitch is about 500m from the carpark.
