This will be the last of the Wednesday runs before the Christmas. Its still an integral part of the program leading up to the Kinsale 10 Miler in February. The weather promises to be an awful lot better than last week so it would be great if the numbers were back up to normal. The session is straightforward enough with a mix of 6 minute and 2 minute intervals at tempo.
Easy run from the carpark on the Straight Road via the Curraheen River walkway or alternatively try to get to the business park a little early and get a warm-up lap in before the session starts.
6 x 60m strides
3 x 6 minutes at tempo with 3 minute easy recovery jog
2 x 2 minutes with 1 minute easy recovery jog
Easy run back to the Straight Road via Farranlea Park (If you started from the Straight Road)
Usual meeting arrangements, meet at the carpark on the Straight Road on the city side of the Kingsley Hotel opposite the new Bean and Leaf Cafe in the student accommodation building, The Crows Nest at 6:30pm. Alternatively go directly to the Business and Technology Park on the Model Farm Road for 6:50pm. We all meet up at the first roundabout inside the the technology park.
The session is run on a 1km loop inside the business park so no one gets dropped and the quicker runners don’t get held up.. If you are heading to the session for the first time the best option would be to go directly to the business park just to see how the session goes. There is some car parking in the business park in the visitor’s carpark. Take the right turn off the roundabout the the visitors carpark is on the left about 3-400m down the hill from the roundabout.
