Step up in the track session this week to 3 x 1600m. For anyone going longer than Olympic distance, 70.3 up to full IM this (in my opinion (Brendan)) is a key session. It is also really great for anyone tackling a marathon. Maybe not on the first iteration of this set but before your season’s A race you should be targeting doing this session at an even pace across all three 1600s and that pace should be your 10km race pace. As well as even pace across the three 1600s you should try to keep the pace even over the 4 laps of each 1600. The session will be taken by Feidhlim this week.

Usual meeting arrangements; meet behind the pavilion by the entrance gate to the track before 7:00pm. Don’t head in until St Finbarr’s are finished. Limited to no parking inside the Mardyke but some street parking outside and the carpark on the Straight Road is just a short jog away.
