Huge crowd at last week’s first session hopefully the numbers will keep up. Last week we started with 400m intervals, this week we move up to 800s. As mentioned last week please keep your own record of times over the season. Pacing was very good last week with all 4 groups keeping the intervals pretty even. Don’t forget that the track sessions are a step up in intensity on the winter tempo sessions. So stick to the full recovery and hold the intensity for the 800m.
Location is at the Sonia O’Sullivan Track in the UCC Sports Grounds on the Mardyke. Noel will continue with his New to Track session at the same time. Usual arrangements for gathering, meet just before 7:00pm at the gate to the track by the pavillion. There is very limited parking inside the grounds and last week security were stopping people at the gate. There is limited on-street parking and the carpark on the Straight Road is just a short jog away. For anyone cycling the bike can be brought inside the track and will be safe.
Don’t go inside the track fence until St Finbarr’s finish their session. When we go inside the New to Track group assemble at the 200m start point, that is diagonally across from the finish by the Mardyke Arena building. Please register for the session on Eventbrite here. Register here for the New to Track session.
