We know many of you are disappointed that King of the Hill wont be going ahead this year. Because of this Cork Triathlon Club are running a Sprint session for new and improving CTC members on Saturday 24th July 8am at The Dock Beach in aid of Kinsale RNLI. This would normally be the day of KOTH.
This is not a race but is aimed at new members or those with limited experience of triathlon. The purpose is to give members an opportunity to see how a triathlon works and experience race day transitions. It will consist of a swim (600m), bike (20km) and run (5km) similar to the KOTH course with an opportunity for participants to cut parts of the course short. A transition will be set up with bike racks in field beside the beach. There will be safety kayaks for the swim and marshals along parts of the bike and run course. Spaces will be limited to 45 with 3 pods of 15 and 3 waves. Participants are asked to register & donate €10 (or more if they wish) and all money raised will go to Kinsale RNLI who have provided us with invaluable support over the years.
Swim will kick off at 8am sharp and transition will open at 7.15am Parking will be available in the field. Its is hoped to have a socially distant picnic in the field after. We are also looking for more experienced members to help us marshal on the day and expect to be finished up by 12pm at the latest. Again this is aimed at new and improving triathletes and is not a race. For contact tracing, we will need marshals to register also, at the following eventbrite reg
