Possibly the last of the run alone sessions if Triathlon Ireland (TI) give the go ahead for group training as expected for next week. If people want to continue with tempo sessions rather going to the track, I can post a suggested post every week, just comment on the FB post if this is of interest. Session this week is a combination of 6 minute and 3 minute repeats.
Easy warm-up jog 10-15 minutes
5 – 6 strides of about 60m with 60m easy recovery
6 minutes at tempo with 3 minute recovery jog
4 x 3 minute at tempo with 90s recovery jog
6 minutes at tempo
Easy 10 – 15 minute cool down
Going back up to the longer 6 minute interval can be tough, mentally as much as anything. Try to hold the pace you had for the first 6 minutes when doing the second, time to use your Garmin constructively!
