16th June 2016; 7:00pm, Dock Beach Kinsale
I am undertaking the Tour De Munster this year. Tour de Munster four day charity cycle, takes place from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th August 2016, and will see 100 amateur cyclists cycle cover 600km around the six counties of Munster, raising funds for the Munster branches of Down Syndrome Ireland. DS Cork gives a huge amount of support to children and teens with Down Syndrome. Each cyclists needs to raise a minimum of €500 for the charity.
This is a charity close to my heart, as in November 2014 my son Ruadh was born with Down Syndrome, so I know, first hand of the great work and support they provide in Down Syndrome Cork.
The money goes towards subsidising Speech and language therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, educational services and support to parents of children with Down Syndrome.
This will be a FUN event and will be an ideal event for beginners, as the swim will be shorter than a sprint and so too will the run.
It’s also a great introduction to group swimming.
Teams will be made up of 2 people. There will be a male and a female competition.
Athlete 1 will swim the 500m course and continue into transition. They will then complete a 2.5km run before coming back to their team member. Athlete 2 will repeat this course.
Hopefully by the time this has all finished the BBQ will be well heated & there will be plenty of food for every participant.
Entry & food will be free so I will hoping for donations on the evening.
I hope to see you on the evening.
Thank you for all your support
