It seems like the Lost Sheep race committee have been working almost full time on putting the finishing touches to what we hope will be a great race. Envelopes have been stuffed, briefings sent out to competitors and marshals (almost 100 marshals), duties assigned, house places assigned for marshals, signs hung, last minute details agreed with TI race officials. There is a phenomenal amount of work that goes into organising a race of this length and stature, I hope people who have never marshalled or helped with organisation understand what goes into putting a race like this together. We really appreciated the comment by Pearse Fahy on an earlier post on our Facebook Page where the emphasis was on the fact that it was a “CLUB” organised race, not for profit, CTC just aims to be on the right side of break-even.
Some stats from the race entry
There are 408 confirmed entrants. We have competitors from 45 Tri Clubs, biggest club entry is from Cork Tri with 49, other clubs with large numbers are Ennis Tri with 20, Piranha at 19, Limerick with 18, Naas tri have 11 and Belpark 10
In the gender wars there are 51 women and 357 men
As the age groups go the largest entry is in the 35-39 category with 105 men and 15 women, next comes the 40-44 divided as 79/15. The 30-34s are 55/7 and the 45-49 goes 49/6
Well done to everybody on race committee for the work so far, we at Cork Tri wish everybody a safe journey to Kenmare, a safe race and a great weekend Lost_Sheep_Entry_List_2015
