Some of the beginners have mentioned that even the beginner sets in the Driven to Tri programme being used by the club are a little hard for “real” beginners. In truth these DTT easier sets are really targeted at “improvers” (people with maybe one or two years behind them) rather than absolute beginners. For absolute beginners to triathlon there was a 12 week programme published in the Christmas edition of Irish Runner. This Programme prepared by TI National Development Coach, Stephen Delaney, is intended to take someone with a reasonable level of running fitness through a 12 week programme culminating in a sprint distance triathlon.
