Following on from the success of last year’s event we will have coaches present for all three events, Swimming with Chris DeLooze, Cycle coaching led by Tim Barry and run coaching with new Dad, Trevor Woods. Training sessions will start 9am on sat Feb 20th and self catering accommodation will be provided in Kenmare Bay hotel holiday homes with a meal for all participants in The Brook Lodge hotel on Saturday

Churchfield Swimming Sessions

This should be a swim time that you can comfortably hold for say 6-10 100m repeats. The lanes will be seeded. It will be much more comfortable if people seed themselves honestly. Triathlon Marshals Volunteers Needed
May 8,2010 - Sep 11,2011Time: -Message from the Cork Triathlon Club Committee concerning Marshalling for the two Club Races: The club has had difficulty getting sufficient marshals for the two races that it runs every year. Members intending to race in either Kinsale or Kenmare must either marshal at the other race or have a substitute to replace them. Members who do not comply will not be allowed race. Registration will have to be completed before the races open for entry. Kinsale (King of the Hill) opens for entries on 7th and 25th May and Kenmare (The Lost Sheep) on 18th and 28th May. By marshalling you get to be involved with the race and you will be well looked after. Marshals for Kenmare will have free accommodation for the weekend, snack bag on race day and a free dinner in the evening. If you send a substitute (family member/friend), we do request that they be fit and able but we will endeavour to make their job as easy as possible. Long Distance Swim Session UL
Jan 23,2011 - Time: 11:15am - 1:15pmA CTC long distance swim session will be held on Sunday 23rd January in the UL 50m pool. The session will be from 11.15 to 13.15 and we will meet in the foyer of the UL arena at 11am. THe session will be 5km+ in the 2 hrs but a range of levels will be catered for. The emphasis is less on technique and more on endurance swimming skills and some triathlon specifics like pace changing and exhaustion swimming. Kenmare Training Weekend
Feb 25,2011 - Feb 27,2011Time: -Cork Triathlon Club will again be holding it's annual training weekend in Kenmare, co. Kerry on Feb 25th to 27th, 2011. THe weekend will give everyone a chance to get the training kick started for 2011. There will be coached swim, bike and run sessions as well as core conditioning class. This is always a great weekend both training and socially and as places are limited to 50 we are advising those book early. The cost for the weekend will be €100 which will include 2 nights in self catering accomodation at The Kenmare bay hotel holiday homes and a meal on saturday night for all attendees st the Brook Lane Hotel as well as all the coached training sessions. This weekend is open only to 2011 members of Triathlon Ireland and CTC.Location

Sunday Cycles for Beginners (Spring2011)
Mar 20,2011 - Apr 11,2011Time: 9am -Three organised cycles for beginner cyclists will commence this month. The first cycle will be on this Sunday 20th March. The distance will be 30 to 40 Km with a coffee stop to keep it social. Hard shell helmets must be be worn. The second and third cycles will be on 3rd April and 10th April respectively. Please note the two week gap between the first and second cycles. All of the cycles will depart from the City Hall at 9am sharp.Location

Starting Jan 21st at 9am. Start point: O’Briens Storage at the Bandon Road roundabout (opposite Topaz garage and next to Dunnes Stores).Prerequisites below:
- Aimed at intermediates.
- Curriculum to be decided but Trevor is entering his 21st year in Triathlon and Timmy has cycled at the highest level (both have too many accolades to mention) SO it will be good.
- 24 people max.
- Have completed 3-4 x 60km+ rides in the past 2 months
- Able to ride at 26+kph average
- Bring spare tube/levers and pump, water bottle(s) and appropriate snack food
- TT bikes or tri bars not essential; road bikes are fine for the initial sessions
- If you own a heart rate monitor then bring that along.

This will be a great opportunity to partake in some first class coaching sessions and to get to know some of your fellow CTC members. To register you must be a current member of both Triathlon Ireland and Cork Tri Club. Please give us some idea of you swim/bike/run times and be as honest as possible so that you are placed in a group of similar ability. If in doubt or you haven’t been training much over the last 6 months, please take your fastest times from 2011 and add 20%.
