Suggested Run Alone Session

Just putting up a suggested for anyone managing to get in an interval session as part of their allowed daily exercise. Remember to follow the HSE guidelines with respect to exercising, do it alone or only with someone with whom you are already confined. There has been quite a bit of comment from people out walking feeling intimidated when being passed or met by runners. The fact that we are probably sweaty, breathing heavily and God forbid spitting makes runners unpleasant to encounter in the current situation. Adjust your behaviour: make sure you give others a 2M space, if necessary stop, carry a tissue and avoid spitting and stay within 2km of home. If using parks or recreation spaces try to go at quiet times when they are not full of walkers. Remember Shane Bergin’s advice the guidelines are “brief periods of moderate exercise” don’t abuse it.

Easy 2 km or 10 minute warm up

4 x 4 minutes at tempo with 2 minute easy recovery jog

3 x 3 minutes at tempo with 90s easy recovery jog
