Track Session Wednesday July 3rd

After last weeks time trial back to a straight speed session this week.  It’s 400s again bu increasing the difficulty slightly again.  So it’s 12 x 400m again but this week not two set of six its a straight twelve with 200m recovery jog.   As well as being a classic speed session the 400s are a great way to develop a feel for pacing.  I notice on some of the sessions people constantly looking at their watches at about the 200m and 300m points.  You should be able to develop a FEEL for your pacing enough to run 400m within 1-2s of your desired time without looking at the watch during the lap.  As usual I’m also looking for people to run even across the set with enough effort that the last 2-3 reps feel close to the limit.  Meet at the usual time; 7:00pm on the Sonia O’Sullivan track in the UCC grounds on the Mardyke.  Again racers need to balance recovery if racing last week or preparation if competing next weekend.
