First track session of the season on the Sonia O’Sullivan Track in the UCC grounds on the Mardyke. Note the time changes from our previous meeting time to 7:00pm. We have the track booked from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. St Finbarr’s AC have the track for the hour before us so if you arrive early to begin a warm up, please respect their space. This year we will probably look at keeping the sessions fairly straight forward with single distances every evening. For the first week we will do 400s. We will also try to squeeze in some 3-5000m time trials to help measure progress.
The sessions will have the same format as last year. Easy warm up, dynamic stretch and 5 x 60m strides
Warm up on the track 8-10m easy jog
5 x 60m Strides (building through the last 3
Repeat 400m (8-10) depending on level 1 min recovery
Easy jog cool down
