Club Race (Schull – June 6th) What is it?

Club_race_HobCEvery year the club nominates one race on the Triathlon Ireland calendar as the “Club Away Race”  So what does this actually mean?  Essentially it is a race where we feel a big number of the club will want to compete and we combine the race with a social event.  The social committee then organise accommodation and a social event along the lines of a BBQ for the evening of the race.  The race nominated this year is the Fastnet Triathlon in Schull, Co. Cork on June 6th. Accomodation (total of 24 spaces) has been booked with Dream Ireland, these will be offered on a first come first served basis and registration will open on the website in about 2-3 weeks. The last time we had the Club Race in conjunction with Schull it was a huge success and great fun. This year Fastnet is a National series race, so can contribute as one of your 4 for the season. There are still spaces available and entry can be booked on the TI website. So stick your entry in, race your clubmates like there is no rest of the season and get bragging rights for the year. Then you can kick back and regale everyone with every step of your race over a few lemonades and burger. The picture that we are using on the FB page was taken at last year’s race in Dunmore East (Hook or by Crook).
