We are going to go with the routes that we proposed last week but didn’t get to use because of the icy weather. Anthony O’brien is going to join us again to give some tips on getting the most out of thee bike spin. Michelle Manning and Ivan Kelleher will be leading the beginner group. Numbers have been very big on recent Sundays so try to get there a little early to give Martin and Steve a chance to organise the groups. The proposed route is out to Coachford through Iniscarra and Dripsey left at Coachford and on to Donoughamore and from there to Blarney for coffee, route here: This route is about 70km. The shorter option for the beginners is out the Inniscarra Road to just before the dam taking a right on to the R622 then a left onto the R579 towards Nad. Another right onto the L2751 which heads back to Tower, then there is the option to head to Blarney for the coffee stop. This route might be a little on the long side at 50km but there are options to shorten, map here: Meet at the usual time of 9:00am at City Hall. For beginners try to wear appropriate clothing (for all its bad press lycra is best) not baggy tracksuit bottoms. Bring spare tubes (2 should be enough), tyre levers and some method of inflating (pump or gas canister). There is usually a coffee stop so bring some money. Ideally a road bike is best, no mountain bikes!
