Cork Tri Club AGM Thursday October 30th Imperial Hotel, South Mall

MeetingIt is that time of year again, racing season over, people thinking about plans for next year, whether that is going long, just upping the number of events, thinking of giving the National Series a crack, taking in an event abroad or maybe you just want to do a few events and have fun.  Part of that renewal is the Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The plan is to hold this in the Imperial Hotel on South Mall on Thursday October 30th.  There will be finger food served from about 7:15pm with the meeting proper starting at 8:00pm, so go easy on the dinner and come along early.  This has been a very active year for the club, membership is at its highest ever at 251 members.  It also has been a very active year with more activities and more mass participation that ever before.  Notable events were the Aquathon Series, first time ever track sessions on the Mardyke plus winter runs from the Straight road.  There were also turbo sessions during the winter in Highfield Rugby Club, cycle hill climbs during the summer months and Saturday cycles for the faster stronger cyclists in the club.  There has been the best ever attendance at the Sunday cycles with numbers so high that we have on occasion had to split into two or more groups.  This year we also provided a structured training programme for all levels within the club.  This was also the first year we identified High Performance as a specific aim of the club by targeting the Triathlon Ireland National Series, there have been exceptional performances at the individual level and at the team level with the men’s and mixed teams taking second place and the women’s team moving up 9 places in the ranking.  The club is very much run on a voluntary basis and depends on contributions across the membership to keep all of these activities going.  So we are appealing to as many members as possible to turn up to the AGM and see how things are organised and maybe make a contribution.  The list of positions in the club are in the attached document Committee_Descriptions, many of the club officers are prepared to go forward again for another year but some for various reasons have to step down.

Any proposed changes to the Constitution Rules or any Motions for discussion must be received by the chair (brendan55oneill@gmail.com) or secretary (admin@corktri.com) at least 8 days prior to the AGM. Please include the seconder of the change/motion.

We will also get together in the bar at the Imperial for a drink and chat after the meeting.
