The weather obliged and picked up after a wet morning to give us a very pleasant afternoon for the Stop n Go Try a Tri. There was a good mix of newcomers and more experienced members for the event. The water temperature was fresh to say the least so there was quite a bracing start. There were plenty of experienced swimmers to “buddy” up with the newcomers for the swim. Jeff Castles did a great swim briefing, Ivan Kelleher did the swim exit explanation. Trevor Mahoney took on the T1 briefing and led the cycle. Andrew O’Leary took over for T2 and led the run. The sun even peeked out during the BBQ where Jeff played a blinder behind the grill. Feedback from the newcomers was very positive and this is probably and event that CTC should consider putting on at the start of every season. If nothing else it gets some of the more reticent “older” members out of the pool and into the sea! Thanks to everyone who came down, good day for CTC. Kudos to the Social Committee.
