The Club has received the following letter, sounds like a very good cause.
Hello to all at Cork Triathlon Club
I am emailing you to let you know that there is a collection of Cork cyclists heading out on Sunday the 3rd of Nov from City Hall to Coachford via the airport return the Lee road.
Route http://ridewithgps.com/routes/
It is a casual cycle coming in at about 80km. People are asked to donate €10 (or what they like) to a My Charity page set up by Padraig O’Conaill.
The page is here http://www.mycharity.ie/event/
Padraig, who is a keen cyclist, is in the final stages of terminal Breast cancer and has taken the brave step of using his last days to publicise male breast cancer and fund raise for the Irish Cancer Society and the Irish Hospice Foundation.
The cycle is mostly publicised on the Boards.ie cycling page here: http://www.boards.ie/
Padraig is also selling his cycling equipment as a fund raiser and can be found here with other adverts all of which the proceeds are going to Padraig’s page: http://www.boards.ie/
It would be great to have the support of a club like Cork Triathlon Club on the day. I think it would raise the profile of the fund raising drive and raise much needed funds for these great charities. Also through a shared passion for cycling it will give Padraig a great boost.
It would be great if Cork Triathlon Club would use this spin as your club ride or if not perhaps you would inform your members of this fundraiser as they may wish to get involved individually.
It really would be great to see the blue jerseys represented on the day, all the best.
Terence
